NOW ACCEPTING LIMITED APPLICANTS: Free Computer Classes from the Asian American Civic Association

Boston's Asian American Civic Association is offering free computer classes to teach skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, general Internet usage and email. Laptops are available for cheap purchase at completion of the classes, and space is limited, so contact now if interested!

This limited-availability opportunity might be of interest to learners with either a low literacy level or limited knowledge of computers. Proficiency in the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email are essential skills in the modern work world, and the Asian American Civic Association (AACA) in Boston is offering free instruction in those areas to a limited number of people. Additionally, with the completion of the classes, laptops are available for sale for $50.

Starting on April 1 and running through May 9, the classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 11am - 1pm. The AACA is located on the Orange Line of the T, near Tufts Medical Center.

Eligibility requirements are:
- proof of Boston residency
- proof of income (with preference given to lower-income residents)
- ability to speak and understand basic English
- ability to attend all classes

While this opportunity might not be for everyone, I'm writing this post in the hope that anyone potentially interested doesn't miss out on it.

The contact listed is Oscar Wong.
